The Spectrum RD-1200
Q-switched ruby laser, the original Q-switched medical laser, remains the
laser of choice in cutaneous pigment removal for one overwhelming reason
superior clinical results. Clinical effectiveness and cost are usually the most important considerations in any laser purchase. Although some lasers may be available for a lower purchase price, a Palomar laser is an investment that will pay for itself in increased referral rates, enhanced clinical results, patient satisfaction, and clinical versatility. Only the Spectrum RD-1200 Q-switched ruby laser provides:
Pigmented Lesion Removal Because melanin characteristically absorbs red light at all skin depths, the Q-switched ruby laser provides the most effective treatment available for the removal of benign pigmented lesions of both the epidermis and the dermis. Common indications such as solar lentigines and other benign pigments are easily eliminated. Excellent results are also typical in the treatment of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and many infra-orbital dark circles. The Q-switched ruby laser also represents the treatment of choice for many deeper lesions such as nevus of Ota.
Tattoo Removal Multi-colored, professional, amateur and traumatic tattoos are safely and easily removed using the Q-switched ruby laser. Ink trapped within the dermis is selectively targeted by the laser and broken into minute particles that are then eliminated through phagocytosis. The result is a gradual fading of the tattoo image, without a high risk of scarring.
Tattoo Ink Absorption Only wavelengths in the 600-1100 nm range can reach the reticular dermis where most tattoos lie. Of these, the ruby laser at 694 nm is better absorbed by more tattoo ink colors than any other laser wavelength. Ease Of Use There is no learning curve or complicated technique required. The laser monitors all controls internally to assure consistent results. The control panel provides a step-by-step, user-friendly interface to all system functions. Completely Self-Contained No water hook-ups or smoke evacuation systems are needed. The laser can be moved using a sturdy handle at the rear of the system. Selective Absorption Only melanin absorbs ruby laser energy. No absorption by oxyhemoglobin means no purpura or blood vessel damage.
Printer Makes record keeping fast and easy, providing a permanent record of each patient treatment. Maximum Safety With Handpiece Extenders A unique tubular design simplifies placement of the treatment beam and creates a barrier against tissue splatter and cross-contamination. Large Spot Size Clinical studies have now proven that larger spot sizes deliver effective fluence to deeper pigment, resulting in a more rapid clearing. At 6.5 mm, the RD-1200 has the largest spot size of any Q-switched ruby laser. Spectrum RD-1200 Specifications
