At Palomar, hard work is rewarded with competitive salaries and great benefits. The following position is currently open.

Senior Laser Physicist:  As part of a team that designs, assembles, manufactures, and packages high-power diode laser bars, you’ll perform lab work characterizing the optical performance parameters of diode laser bars operating with/without beam-forming optics. At least 5 experience characterizing/ designing diode laser bars and MS in physics/optics or related; LabVIEW knowledge a plus.

Senior Physicist:  Do you understand electromagnetic/transport theory and thermophysics as they apply to biological media? Help us optimize energy delivery systems by researching propagation of electromagnetic radiation of RF to UV range in biological media and this energy’s interaction with condensed matter and biological objects. You’ll develop data/image-processing techniques and computer applications, and model heat transfer processes in inhomogeneous media. You must have 15+ years R&D/lab experience, strong publication record, PhD in physics (or related), and strong math/computer skills. Familiarity with optical design methods/software, Monte Carlo techniques, finite-element methods, inverse solvers, and image-processing algorithms/software, and state-of-the-art developments in photonics/data processing required.

Senior Biophysicist:  Let your lab skills shine in collaboration with our Research Department and clinical partners. Create new technologies, study/identify prospective applications of existing technologies, and improve/optimize current applications. This work emphasizes interaction of biological systems with electromagnetic energy of RF to UV range at molecular and cellular levels through thermal and photochemical mechanisms. The skilled communicator we seek must have 2+ years research experience and an MS or PhD in biophysics (or related). Familiarity with biomedical optics/laser technology and expertise in pharmacokinetics or transdermal drug delivery a plus.

Senior Electro-Optic Research Engineer:  We seek a skilled communicator to design, build, and test light-based prototypes for clinical research. You must have 2+ years R&D experience; BS, MS, or PhD in engineering; expertise in state-of-the-art electronics/optics; and familiarity with current CAD techniques.

Senior Electrical Engineer:  In this key role, you will design/build control systems and sensors for light-based cosmetic devices; supervise the development of a high-current, low-voltage power supply; and work with research group optical engineers to develop optical sensors that employ digital signal processing. At least 5 years experience and BS in electrical engineering (or related) required.

Clinical Studies Manager:  Do you have proven experience in managing clinical programs leading to successful regulatory approval of medical products? Then oversee our clinical activities, develop study protocols/budgets, and review/ interpret clinical data for submission to FDA and other regulatory authorities. At least 5 years of medical industry or CRO experience is required, along with a PhD, DVM, or MD (or equivalent background).

Diode Laser Assembly Technician:  We seek a technician to build prototype diode laser packages. This role requires 2+ years experience soldering diode chips and working with electrical/mechanical sub-systems for proper diode operation.

Data Analysis Technician:  We seek an organized, computer-savvy professional to process clinical images in a proprietary software package. At least two 2 years computer experience required.

We welcome resumes for the following positions for future consideration.

Optical Assemblers:  Responsibilities include reading detailed work orders, drawings and procedures. Applicants must be able to assemble, clean, align and test optical components and sub-assemblies utilizing standard tools and test equipment. Experience with proper handling of optical components such as fibers, mirrors and lenses along with clean room experience is a plus. HS diploma, 1-3 years assembly experience and good record-keeping skills required.

Laser Technicians:  Assemble, integrate, align, test and de-bug complex laser and/or pulsed-light medical systems in manufacturing and depot repair. Must have the ability to work independently with advanced test equipment, ensuring finished and repaired products meet the required specifications. Applicants must posses an AS in Electronics and/or 3-5 years technical experience, strong troubleshooting skills, good communications and record-keeping skills. Prior laser experience a plus.

Electronics/Mechanical Assemblers:  Responsibilities include reading detailed work orders, drawings and procedures. Applicants must be able to assemble, align and test electromechanical components, sub-assemblies and systems utilizing standard tools and test equipment. HS diploma along with 1-3 years experience with conventional wiring practices, crimping, soldering, ESD awareness and good record keeping skills required.
